ONE OF A KIND

Namyaan, meaning “has grown and is blessed,” in Maa was the name given by the women to this extraordinary piece, reflecting both its grand scale and the intricacy of its beadwork.

Created collectively, the hands of many women bead the individual elements that are then carefully brought together to form one long, sculptural composition. Thousands of tiny glass beads are meticulously stitched onto soft leather, with each section carrying the subtle variations and individual hand of its maker.

At almost five feet long, Namyaan celebrates the power of many hands working together. Its elongated form and intricate cut-out details transform traditional Maasai beadwork into a bold contemporary statement — delicate in its detail, yet commanding in scale.

Designed to hang vertically, its striking silhouette brings texture, movement and craftsmanship to a space, creating a piece that feels as much like sculpture as beadwork.

Each Namyaan is made entirely by hand in Tanzania and is truly one of a kind.
